Op 10 juni verschijnt het langverwachte debuutalbum van de Amsterdamse rapper Cho (23). ‘Knock Knock 3’ is geproduceerd door Spanker (op ‘Josephine’ en ‘Chavelly 2.0’ na) en bevat bijdragen van onder meer Winne, Willie Wartaal, Hef, Josylvio, Idaly, Nicole Bus en La Rouge. De eerste single ‘Kan Het Niet Geloven’ ft. Hef is vanaf nu te streamen, te downloaden en heeft een dikke clip gekregen.

Cho en producer Spanker zijn de afgelopen maanden bezig geweest met Knock Knock 3. “Ik wilde genoeg informatie en inspiratie opslaan, voordat ik weer de studio in zou gaan”, vertelt Cho. “Tijd kan me niet zoveel schelen als ik muziek maak. Misschien neem ik mijn werk soms te serieus, maar ik drop liever een jaar niks en daarna een bom, dan elke maand clips en tracks met veel rommel ertussen. Daarnaast heb ik ook gewoon heel veel opgetreden, ik ben vader geworden, er moest geld verdiend worden.”

Knock Knock 3 is een verhalend album geworden van een heel open en eerlijke rapper. Cho: “Ik hoop dat ik met dit album een betere kijk heb gegeven op mijzelf, dat mensen mij en mijn muziek beter begrijpen. Maar wat ik vooral hoop is dat mensen het voelen, dat er minimaal één track op staat die echt belangrijk was om te horen.”

Vanaf vandaag is Knock Knock 3 te bestellen op Bol en iTunes. ‘Kan Het Niet Geloven’ ft. Hef is daarnaast op alle streaming platforms te horen.
